Two Birds and a Deer

Today I have a Christmas card to share - made using the non-traditional colors of brown and teal.
I used my brand new Prancing Deer and Holiday Word Block dies from Tim Holtz, a Stitched Mat Circle die from Lil Inker Designs -  and the tiny birds were cut using dies from the In The Meadow set from PTI.The wreath was cut with a Nestie Pinking Circle and then I punched a hole out of the middle of it.  I made a slit in the wreath and slipped it around the deers neck, taping it in the back.
I embossed the deer with the beautiful Shabby White Frontage Embossing Powder from Stampendous (it's really glittery and sparkly IRL!) and added two tiny little die cut birds to his antlers.  I made their  eyes with a Black Glaze Pen and added rhinestones to the wreath and as the deers' eye.

And as art imitates life -  Kent and I saw 3 deer in our backyard Sunday night - I got a picture of one of them just prior to spooking them (I snuck up around the garage from the front of the house) - their movement had turned on our back yard floodlights - otherwise we probably wouldn't have even known they were there!  They were around the bird feeder.  Gosh - they were beautiful - this was the smallest one.  We live in a town of about 26,628, not out in the country, but there is a little woodsy hill behind our house and a small river not too far away that eventually leads to the Lynn Woods about 4 miles away - this is the first year we have ever seen deer in our yard.
I'm linking my card to the following challenges:
