Guest Designing for Festive Friday!!

I was thrilled beyond words when I got an e-mail from Ardyth asking if I'd like to be Guest DT for this week's Festive Friday Challenge -  I quickly replied a resounding "YES  - I'd LOVE to!"   So here I am -- with my card for this week's Festive Friday Inspiration photo - isn't this a wonderful Christmas scene??!
This is how Christmas looks in New England where I live. (accept for the once in a while years when we don't have snow - which is SO depressing!!)
I knew right away - that I'd pull out my Papertrey Ink stamp set and die - Enjoy the Ride to create my card..
And then I went searching for my old SU set Loads of Love Accessories (that goes with the cute pick up truck from Loads of Love)  I've sold most of my SU sets on Ebay -  but I knew I had kept this one - and the presents and dogs stamps (that go in the bed of the truck) were the perfect scale for the VW!   And don't worry  - the dogs are not driving -  this is the back window of the car!!
I stamped the dogs right in the car window - using a sticky note along the bottom to be sure it didn't stamp outside the car. I colored 2 of them with a tan Copic and colored their noses with a Spica black pen so they have a little sparkle (like a dogs wet nose!) I stamped the presents on white card stock, cut them out and colored them with a red Copic.  The wreath, berries and tiny snowflakes (see one just above my name on the pic above?!) are stamps from Twas the Night Before Christmas by Waltzingmouse.  I stamped the wreath and berries, cut around the outside edges and punched a hole out of the middle.  I stamped the snowflakes in Distress Antique Linen randomly on the snowy field and in the sky - very subtle!  I also sponged the edges of each piece and the background panel with the Antique Linen.

The trees and rocks are a red rubber stamp called Lakeside Reflections from StampScapes - I stamped it 3 times to fill the background panel (and I only inked the top half as the bottom half shows a reflection in the lake!).  Then I layered the car onto the panel, the presents on the roof and the wreath on the back of the car with foam dots.   I added red enamel dots over the lights on the car and finally stamped the Merry Christmas from Nutcracker Sweet by Waltzingmouse along the top.

I hope the challenge photo inspires you to make a Christmas Card in August and get ahead of the holiday rush when December rolls around!!  I already have a box full of cards ready to send out because I participate in the Festive Friday challenges!
Please check out all of the lovely Design Team's inspiration over at Festive Friday - and I hope to see your card linked up there.
You have until Midnight EST on Wed 8/13 to link up!

And thank you to Ardyth and all the DT ladies from Festive Friday for allowing me to join you as Guest DT for this week's challenge!

Sending Smiles

Sprinkles and Smiles to be exact!
For today's creation I used another of my Papertrey Ink Market kits - Shakers and Sprinkles -  I buy so many things that I actually forget what I have - so I'm making a conscious effort to get things out and play with them!
My stitched tag is from Waltzingmouse.  The white stitched frame die, the pretty chevron patterned paper, the Sprinkles die, the sending, &. and Smiles stamps, the stars and green sequins are all from the PTI Shakers and Sprinkles Market kit (which I actually just received last week - I was on the backorder list from May).  The arrows are MFT and the black jute string is Tim Holtz.

I'm entering my tag into the 2nd Tag You're It challenge:

Stamps:  Shaker & Sprinkles kit - PTI
Paper:  white, True Black, Simply Chartreuse - PTI,  DP - from Shakers and Sprinkles kit - PTI

Winter Bunny

I've missed a couple of the Festive Friday Challenges - and I was determined not to miss it again!  This is the beautiful inspiration photo:
So many pretty things to focus on -  first I thought pinecones,  then snowflakes, then white frame and wreath,  I toyed with the idea of branches with silver balls, or a roaring fire..... but then
The little bunny won out! I love the stitched bunny and bow from Lil' Inker Designs - I guess she's not just for Easter anymore!! I cut her out of a brushed gold card stock.  I also used (for the very first time!) my long ago purchased and stored away Impression Plate from the Luxe Letter Press Market Kit from PTI.
I stamped the NOEL from the Nutcracker Sweet set by Waltzingmouse in Brilliance Gold Ink next to my bunny.  The bunny and bow are both popped up on foam tape.

On the inside I stamped this verse from an old wood mounted rubber stamp I have:
In the stillness of snow falling
In the glow of candlelight
In the beauty of frosty windows
May peace be yours tonight.

Perfect for my little bunny, I think.....

Stamps:  Noel from Nutcracker Sweet - Waltzingmouse
Paper:  Vintage Cream, Letter Press 110# Stock - PTI,  brushed gold from stash
Ink:  Brilliance Galaxy Gold
Accessories:  Bunnies and Bows Die set - Lil' Inker Designs, Luxe Letter Press Impression Plate - PTI

A Tag for a Birthday

Today I have a tag to share that I made using several dies.
The tag itself is Stitched Tag from Waltzingmouse.  I used Coredinations Snowcap paper for everything on my tag - it is a textured paper if you look closely.  The Gerbera Daisy die is from MFT and the HAPPY die is from PTI.  I sponged the flower petals with Antique Linen Distress Ink and sponged the flower centers with Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade and Salty Ocean Distress inks.  I layered the centers onto the blooms with foam dots and then adhered them to the card - with the blue center flower raised up on a foam dot.  I inked the HAPPY with Salty Ocean and Ripe Persimmon and layered that onto the tag with thin pieces of foam dots.  To finish off the tag - I stamped Birthday -  a partial inking of the Happy Birthday sentiment in Party Animal by Avery Elle - and stapled on the twill ribbon from PTI.

I'm entering my tag in a new challenge I just found -  Tag - You're It!
I'm also entering this in the Moxie Fab Wonderful Word dies Challenge

Then I decided to adhere my tag to a card base - first layering it onto an orange panel die cut with a Stitched Mat Rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs.
Here's a close up shot of the pretty Gerbera Daisies - I curved the petals up using my bone folder and added black enamel dots from My Mind's Eye to the centers.
I'm entering my card in Virginia's View Challenge #5 - use Die Cuts.
I hope everyone in the US had a lovely 4th of July long weekend -  we had rain from Hurricane Arthur all day Friday - but Saturday and Sunday were glorious summer days -  we were at a wedding on Saturday held at a conference center in the woods in RI.  Here are two pics of the bride and groom.  It couldn't have been a more perfect day -  Wishing you the best in your new life together Mary and Darren!

Reminder:  you have until 7/25 to link up your Mixed Media Card Challenge creation!  This month the Optional element is Tags!

Fusion Card Challenge - July 3rd

If you are looking for my eclectic Paperie ePlay challenge post 'Altered Bottles'- please scroll down!

Thank you all for participating in our last challenge when we joined up with Cas(e) this Sketch - what wonderful inspiring cards you all linked up!  We hope you will be equally inspired by our challenge this week!   Don't you just LOVE the blue and red colors here???!!  Or maybe you just really love the sketch?
Personally -  I have a lot of difficulty using a triangle -  so I'm afraid I just ran with the colors, flowers and stripes in the inspiration photo this time!
I stamped my Pinstripe Backgrounder stamp from Waltzingmouse in black ink on white cardstock - then I sponged the whole panel with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  I cut the panel with my Stitched Mat Square die from Lil' Inker Designs and layered it onto a white card base.  I got out the Lil' Inker Spring Flowers Die set that I bought quite a while ago and sort of forgot I had (!) and boy - do I love how they look creased and layered!!  I put foam tape between each layer so they really pop up.  I added the sentiment from Whole Lotta Happy from WPlus9 on a  banner cut with my Stitched Sentiment flag die from Lil' Inker.  Then I just added some home made enamel dots (made from Perler Beads)

I can't wait to see how you interpret the challenge this week!   Here are links to see what the rest of the Design Team has created!

Fusion Card Challenge - June 19th

It's Thursday!  and this Thursday brings a very special Fusion Card Challenge -  we are joining forces with Cas(e) This Sketch for your inspiration!
In honor of this joint challenge - I FUSED the image and the sketch on my card!  I die cut the lacey butterfly out of white card stock and inked it with Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  I covered the butterfly with Glue N Seal and poured Ranger Mustard Seed Distress Glitter over it.  I let it dry and then brushed off the excess glitter.
I cut the tag with one of the Waltzingmouse Stitched Tags out of a Golden Glimmer Metal sheet.  I die cut the heart from Folding Tag Die set from Waltzingmouse and the Birthday die from PTI using a Lovely Lavender Metal Sheet.  I adhered all the pieces with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive to the metal tag.  I adhered the metal tag to the Stitched Mat Rectangle die cut panel with my Scotch Tape Glider.
We hope you will join along in this fun joint challenge!

Here are some fabulous cards by our design team showing you how it works!

Fusion Card Challenge - May 22nd

Wow, wow, wow - did you see all the wonderful bright yellow with contrasting black designs linked up at the Fusion Challenge the past two weeks??!  It is always quite a challenge for the Design Team to pick their favorites - you guys really rock the Fusion!!
This week we have another fun inspiration photo - I just love the red with white dots, and the music bag - and the sketch pretty much matches the image this week!  I've 'sort of' combined the two with my project.

The silverware in the photo immediately  made me think of a package of sweet little plastic forks I just had to purchase when I saw them at my local Christmas Tree Shop - I just knew I'd use them sometime! - at 4" long, they are supposed to be used for appetizers - aren't they the cutest?!
I had these Bazzill Library Pockets sitting in the cubby that's on top of my work table - they've been there for years - just waiting for me to be inspired to use them - which  happened this week!  I stamped the front twice with a stamp from the Musical Background set by Waltzingmouse using Archival Watering Can Ink.  The cute tag with the little heart around the hole was cut from the new Folding Tag Die set from Waltzingmouse.  I looped a little piece of red/white twine through the hole.
I die cut the dotted red Amuse cardstock (another item I've had for years!) with a Mega Mat Stack 3 die from PTI and die cut the slots for the gift card to slip through using the Gift Card It Die from Waltzingmouse.    Here's a pick showing the panel inside and pulled out.
I adhered the fork to the dotted panel with a thick glue dot just under the tines of the fork so the handle is free and can slip over the Library Pocket when the panel is inserted.  The sentiments are from Gift Card It and Join Us by Waltzingmouse.  I thought the "For Drinks" and "For Dinner" would be perfect to go with a gift card to a restaurant
I didn't really want to put the Library Pocket on a card base but I thought it would be nice if it could stand up and be displayed - so I cut an easel with my Tim Holtz Small Easel die from a piece of white PTI card stock, which is very sturdy, and adhered it to the back of the pocket with ScorTape -  Perfect!
I made two of these cuties - so I'm all set to give some gift cards when the need arises!

Now - I can't wait to see how the rest of my Teamies were inspired by this weeks' challenge - let's go see, shall we?!
Please join us by linking up your inspired creation over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog - you have almost 2 weeks!

Candy Cane Cookies

We're finally getting some great sunny warm weather here in MA so what do I do?? Make another Christmas card!
I stamped the candy canes and bow stamps from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers set from Waltzingmouse - the Merry Christmas is from the Nordic Winter set.  I die cut the canes and bow with the Jar Fillers die set from WMS.  I die cut the circle using my Stitched Mat Circle die from Lil' Inker Designs and added some home made enamel dots that I made from Perler beads.  The background paper is from a DCWV Christmas Stack that I've had for years I die cut it with a Stitched Mat Rectangle die and layered it to a piece of white card stock for sturdiness.  The dotted paper for the candy canes is from PTI.

So here's the inspiration photo for The Festive Friday Challenge - itsn't it YUMMY!?!
I'm also entering this into Virginia's View Challenge - to use stitching  the bow stamp has a stitched edge to it - and the circle and rectangle have die cut stitched edges!

Creations by AR - Designers Choice Blog Hop!

Today I am excited to be participating in the Creations by AR Designers Choice Blog Hop!
Adela has asked each of us to pick out our favorite Creations by AR Template and share it today!  This was quite a hard task for this template lovin' girl -  I love creating boxes, houses, vehicles - really ALL kinds of little treat containers - so I was hard pressed to pick a favorite.
I finally decided to share the sweet Dress Up Baby Bag since I just LOVE how cute it is - and how sweet it is to hold a gift for a new baby - not to mention how impressive this will look at a baby shower on the table where the gifts are placed!! We always want to impress people with what we create right!!??!
When Adela released this template I made it for a baby girl since my niece was expecting a girl shortly after the release. Then  recently a co-worker asked me if I could make some for boys - as her friend just had twins and she wanted to send them something special!  So I made these matching bags for her in boy colors.
On the front I adhered the included rocking horse shape and on the back I punched an oval and stamped each boys name on it so they would know whose was whose (a problem with identical twins I'm sure!).  I also stamped their names on the little tag that I tied around the top of the hanger with a piece a twine.  I used tiny clothes pins on the shoulders to help keep the bag closed as it's SO sturdy in cardstock that it tends to want to stay open (it looks perfectly fine open as well - which also allows for a larger gift to be put inside!)  So I guess this is my current favorite Template from Creations by AR -  but I will probably change my mind with the next release!!!
In case you missed the one I made for my now-born and already one month old grandniece,  Madelyn Margaret - here's the set I made including the sweet Rockin' horse card and little Rockin' Cradle.   You can see that post here.
And just for good measure -  here are a few of my 'other' favorite templates that I have posted in the past with links to the template and my posts with more details in case you are interested!
The fun Lovely Cart that I made into a candy wagon here.
The glorious Harvest Pumpkin set  - that I made in off white and gray here. I LOVE how the cover fits on this!
The Fore the Golfer cart - that I made as a wedding card here.
And finally -  Papa's Trunk - that I made into a Steam Punk travel trunk here!
And just as a reminder - all of Adela's wonderful templates come in both PDF (you print and cut out by hand) and SVG formats (use with a cutting machine like Silhouette Cameo which is what I use).

Here's how you can win a template of your choice!

• Leave comments on each DT blog listed below
• Leave comment on Creations by AR FaceBook Page stating  which template is YOUR favorite or which one you would like to win!

Comments accepted until Friday, May 16, 12:00 noon Eastern
One winner will be chosen from the Creations by AR FaceBook Page and will be announced March 17 on FaceBook

Fusion Card Challenge - May 8th

It's Thursday and time for another great FUSION card Challenge!  Look at this wonderful floral photo we have this week -  AND the lovely sketch too!  As always - we can use the photo and/or the sketch for inspiration.
This week I was inspired by the wonderful contrasts of the bright yellow and black blooms - and the twigs in the bouquet.
I wound some brown twine around the blooms to suggest the look of the twigs. The flowers and leaves are cut from felt using Funky Flowers Dies from Waltzingmouse.   I put home made enamel dots in the centers made by melting Perler Beads. (see tutorial here)
The background panel die cut with a stitched mat rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs, is stamped with Pinstripe backgrounder stamp and the lovely sentiment is from Vintage Garden Seed Packet - both from Waltzingmouse.  I adhered a piece of Washi tape behind the sentiment strip.
I love the dimension that the looped twine gives to the card - while still being flat for mailing!
So what inspires you from this week's Fusion Challenge??  I can't wait to see your creation linked up over at the Fusion Card Challenge Blog!  You have just about two weeks to link up!
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

Please check out the rest of the Design Team linked below for some wonderful inspiration!
